This past week, all-district selections for Rockdale, Milano and Thorndale girls basketball teams were named with Lady Tiger Julie Bartsch being picked for District 19-3A.
Despite the bad weather throughout Texas last week, Lady Dog softball was able to get two games in at the La Grange Tournament on Friday, beating Class 5A schools Cedar Creek, 18-0, and Victoria’s East High School, 16-0.
RHS golf competes at Salado
Lady Tiger golfers traveled north on Monday to play at Mill Creek Country Club in Salado, where Brianna Bailey led the group, shooting a 121.
Molly Moody finished the day with 124 while Jacie Hartley and Alyssa Talbott ended Monday with a 137 and 142.
At Tiger Gymnasium in front of his peers, teachers, coaches and family this past Wednesday afternoon, RHS senior Davioun “Dae-Dae” Scott signed his letter of intent to play football at Trinity Valley Community College.

Trailing 41-32 going into the final quarter, it looked as if the Milano Eagles were going to end the season tied with juggernaut Thorndale for first place.
However, the Eagles were able to avoid a play-in game with the Bulldogs, thanks to a 26-point fourth quarter.
Fans were on the edge of their seats at Giddings High School for Thorndale’s area round matchup with Normangee, a fast-paced team that went undefeated in District 26-2A.
The two teams went back and forth, but the contest ended in the favor of NHS, who won 37-35.
Despite facing tough Class 6A competition on Saturday, Tiger track still left Fort Bend’s Ranger Relays with some hardware.
RHS freshman Timothy Grice placed second in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.5, beating out competitors from schools such as Sharpstown, Brazosport and Killeen Ellison.
