JV Tigers down Academy 36-7

On Thursday, The RHS JV Blue and JV Gold teams joined forces to face off against the Academy JV Bumblebees. The Tigers destroyed the Bees 36-7. Both defenses played great in the first quarter with neither team scoring any points.

Aaron Montelongo wins Junior High District Meet

RJH Aaron Montelongo won the District Meet in Cameron. Montelongo’s time of 11:58 led the boys, team to a second-place finish. “I’m so proud of the work he (Montelongo) puts in, and how much he wants to grow in the program,” RJH Head Coach Cheryl Meuth said.

RHS ends regular season with win against Lady Bees

The RHS netters capped off their regular season finale in style. On Friday, the Lady Tigers were victorious against the Academy Lady Bees in three sets 25-15, 25-21 and 25-22. Julie Bartsch led the Lady Tigers with 12 kills. Haven Jimenez led the team with 15 digs and six aces.

Milano falls to Iola, 51-13

The Milano Eagles’ lack of depth came back to haunt them as they were defeated by the Iola Bulldogs 51-13. The Eagles are now 2-5 on the season and 1-3 in district play. “I am happy that we continued to play hard,” MHS Head Coach Chad Lagrone said. “Due to injuries, we only had 14 guys playing.

Bulldogs defeat Thrall, 21-19

The Thorndale Bulldogs were victorious in a tough battle against the Thrall Tigers 21-19. They are now 6-2 on the season overall and 4-1 in district play. “Overall, I feel like we played a good game,” RHS Head Coach John Kovar said.

7th Grade A Team The 7 Grade A Team lost to the Academy Bees 20-8. De’andre Nunn scored the Tigers only touchdown on an 80-yard pass from Brody Willard. Willard kicked the the ball throught the uprights two-point conversion. Offensive standouts included Nunn and Ragan Roberts.

I’ve started getting ready for Christmas. I bought us a new artificial Christmas tree. And I’m hoping some of the kids come around and offer to put it up and put the decorations on it. A little early yet, but have to start making plans. Maybe I should be making plans for Thanksgiving.

Slow starter isn’t always last one to the finish line

In today’s society, many people like to place labels on others for the slightest things. They judge you because of where you grew up, for who your parents are, your lack or abundance of education, etc. It is rare that people make a conscious decision to find out who a person is.

Robinson on the road to recovery

RHS Quarterback Jace Robinson had started every game for the Tigers since they faced Lexington in 2018. He put in a tremendous amount of work this past summer and was expected to lead the Tigers to glory in his senior season.

Tiger cross country boys takes second in Lexington

The RHS boys cross country team continued their stellar season after placing second in the Lexington Meet on Saturday. The girls did not place as a team with only two runners participating in the race. However, both runners placed in the top 15.
