The Tigers watched their win streak and district title chance come to a heartbreaking halt as they were defeated by the Lorena Leopards 49-42. The Tigers end their regular season with a 6-4 overall record and a 4-2 record in district play.

It’s win or go home in high school football as the State Playoffs begin. The 6-4 Rockdale Tigers will travel to Conroe to face the 7-2 Columbus Cardinals. The Tigers will be looking for their first playoff win since 2017. “Columbus is a big and physical team,” RHS Head Coach Jacob Campsey said.

The RHS boys cross country team continued their stellar season after placing fourth in the Regional Meet on Monday. “I am so proud of the varsity boys team and their performance at regionals,” RHS Head Coach Cheryl Meuth said.

The RHS JV Tigers were crowned district champions after they defeated the Lorena JV Leopards 43-27. The Tigers got on the board first as quarterback Blaydn Barcak connected with Gerren Marrero on a 76-yard touchdown pass. The Tigers led 8-0 after one quarter.

7th Grade A Team The 7th Grade A Team defeated the Lorena Leopards 8-0. In the first quarter Mason Lillard connected with De’andre Nunn on a 60-yard touchdown pass. Brody Willard kicked the field goal to earn the two-point conversion.

Rockdale Tigers wide receiver/defensive back Kesean Raven made a verbal commitment to Sam Houston State University on Friday via Twitter. “Sam Houston State was the best decision for me because it’s closer for my mom to attend the games,” Raven said.
