RHS to hold recruiting process

Last week, RHS announced via Facebook that the school plans to hold a seminar for student-athletes on Monday, Jan. 25, in the RHS auditorium. RISD athletic director Jacob Campsey has put together the event in order to provide knowledge about the college recruiting experience.

Tiger soccer sees progress amongst challenging competition

Things were tough for the Rockdale boys’ soccer team when they travelled 84 miles east to Madisonville this past weekend for their first tournament of the season.

Milano hoops back in action Friday

With school canceled in Milano ISD last week, neither the Lady Eagles or Eagles played a game. Both teams made their way back to the court last night against Hearne after press time.

THS teams take on rival Thrall Friday

For the first time this season, the Bulldogs and Lady Bulldogs will face rival Thrall when they cross the Williamson County line Friday night for their games. The Lady Bulldogs have defeated the Tigerettes 12 consecutive times with their last loss to the Tigerettes coming on January 28, 2014.

Miller named 17-6A Coach of the Year

Former RHS head football coach Jeff Miller was named District 17-6A Coach of the Year after going undefeated with Cypress-Fairbanks High School in their Houston-area district and finishing the season with a 10-2 record that ended with an area round loss to Katy-Tompkins.

Rockdale’s young basketball team suffered their second district loss on Tuesday night, falling 55-40 to Rogers at home.

In their first game since Dec. 22, the Lady Tigers were at a disadvantage this past Tuesday going up against a tall Rogers squad that beat them 51-26.

RHS soccer ready for tourney play

This weekend, the Rockdale Tiger soccer team is gearing up for their first tournament of the season. Unlike the last two years where they went over to Cameron to play in the Yoe Tournament, RHS is headed far east to Madisonville this year.

Herzog has top jump in USA

Thorndale High School senior Michael Herzog has the top triple jump mark in the U.S. after making a height of 49-5 at the North Texas Jumps Showcase in Weatherford in late December. “It feels pretty special to have the best jump in the nation right now,” Herzog said.
