Rockdale’s young basketball team suffered their second district loss on Tuesday night, falling 55-40 to Rogers at home.

In their first game since Dec. 22, the Lady Tigers were at a disadvantage this past Tuesday going up against a tall Rogers squad that beat them 51-26.

RHS soccer ready for tourney play

This weekend, the Rockdale Tiger soccer team is gearing up for their first tournament of the season. Unlike the last two years where they went over to Cameron to play in the Yoe Tournament, RHS is headed far east to Madisonville this year.

Herzog has top jump in USA

Thorndale High School senior Michael Herzog has the top triple jump mark in the U.S. after making a height of 49-5 at the North Texas Jumps Showcase in Weatherford in late December. “It feels pretty special to have the best jump in the nation right now,” Herzog said.

Young Eagles looking up in new year

Over the course of nearly two months, the Milano Eagle basketball team has gone 3-8. However, what the winloss column doesn’t say is that facing challenging competition on the court has been an ongoing theme for the boys this season.

Lady Bulldogs ready for district

While the Lady Bulldogs had the night off, the Bulldogs played host to the Marble Falls Faith Academy, who beat THS 82-56. Stats weren’t available at press time. LAST WEEK—Due to Austin’s Achieve Academy’s concerns about the spread of COVID-19, the Bulldogs’ home game on Thursday was canceled.

RHS first track practice Monday

According to Rockdale High School head track and field coach Lewis Edmonson, the Tigers and Lady Tigers are holding their first practices of the 2021 season. Edmonson also released the official schedule for this upcoming season via Twitter on Tuesday evening.

A wise man once said when one door closes, another door opens. For myself, it is time to close the door on my time in Rockdale as today will be my last day at The Reporter. It’s a bittersweet day for me because I’ve had such a great time in Rockdale.
