Milano, Thorndale teams eye playoffs around the corner

Last Friday, the Milano Eagles battled with Hearne, the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches 22nd-ranked team in Class 2A, and fell 64-54 in a game that was tied during the third quarter. Jayce Todd led with 20 and Layne Telg had 13. MHS also lost in Thorndale last Tuesday 46-35.

Mitchell places first at Arcadia

Rockdale native and nationally ranked bull-rider Ezekiel Mitchell had a lovely Saturday when he finished first place at the Arcadia Day One Short Go in Florida. He beat out Brazilians Mauricio Gulla Moreira and Joao Ricardo Vieira to take the top spot and win the $1,000 top prizes.
