RHS golf heads to Wimberley

Both Rockdale golf teams head to Wimberley this upcoming week with the Lady Tigers heading out west Monday and the Tigers teeing off on Tuesday. The tournament takes place at the Quicksand Golf Course. RHS golf also hit the green earlier this week in Hutto after press time.

Rockdale tennis returns Thursday

Due to the winter weather last week, the Rockdale tennis tourney was canceled. Teams get back to the court on Thursday in Navasota. As of press time, RHS doesn’t have any tournaments scheduled this upcoming week and play again on Friday, March 12, in Cameron.

Thorndale High School junior Emilee Baker hadn’t always planned on being a Division I softball player before she verbally committed to Texas State University earlier this school year. Before moving to Texas during fifth grade, she was an aspiring gymnast in her home state of Arkansas.

#20 Schulenburg 51, Thorndale 47

It was a game of runs when Thorndale took on Schulenburg Monday evening at the Brenham High School Gymnasium. In the first quarter, the Shorthorns led 11-2. At halftime, the Bulldogs led 25-24.

Jones 13th in Southland Championship run

Milano High School graduate Parker Jones placed 13th out of 81 runners at Sunday’s Southland Conference Cross Country Championship in Hammond, LA. He also helped lead the Stephen F. Austin State University Lumberjacks to a runner-up finish behind meet host Southeastern Louisiana University.

Rockdale track starts in Lago Vista

In anticipation of rain throughout Central Texas on Thursday, including in Lago Vista, the site of Rockdale’s first track and field meet of the season, the school is now scheduled to compete on Wednesday.

Next stop: Dublin...Texas?

After the winter weather passed, Lady Tiger and Lady Bulldog powerlifters traveled to Somerville on Saturday for one more opportunity to advance to the Region III meet on March 5th in Dublin.

Diamond dance returns this weekend

This weekend, the Lady Tigers head to Jarrell for their first tournament of the season. On Thursday, RHS kicks off their time in Williamson County with three games. They will play back-to back games against Austin’s Eastside Memorial at 9 a.m.

RHS fights until end with Cameron

Rockdale met up with undefeated Cameron on Monday night at Tiger Stadium, where the two battled in a scoreless game for much of the time.

Thorndale’s Leschber makes all-state

On Monday, Thorndale High School junior Stryker Leschber was named as an honorable mention on the Texas Sportswriters Association’s Class 2A All-State team.
