RJH boys’ cross-country wins second at McGregor

The RJH boys’ cross-country team had a great showing on Saturday placing second at the McGregor Invitational Meet. The meet featured Clifton, Rockdale, Robinson, Parkview Christian, Live Oak Classical and Academy. Both the boys and girls were required to run two miles for their races.

Rockdale JV prevails in close battle against Caldwell JV

On Thursday, the RHS JV Gold and JV Blue teams joined forces to face off against the Caldwell JV Hornets. The Tigers prevailed 24-14. Both defenses played great in the first quarter with neither team scoring any points.

Thorndale defeats Rosebud-Lott in defensive battle, 12-7

The Thorndale Bulldogs were victorious against the Rosebud-Lott Cougars 12-7 in a defensive slugfest. The bulldogs are now 4-2 on the season and 2-1 in district play. “I think it was a good learning experience for us,” THS Head Coach John Kovar said.

Milano falls to Granger, 43-13

The Milano Eagles failed to keep their win streak alive as they were crushed by the Granger Lions 43-13. The Eagles are now 2-4 on the season and 1-2 in district play. “We had a field goal blocked for a touchdown and then the wheels came off after that,” MHS Head Coach Chad Lagrone said.

Eight graders win, seventh graders fall to Caldwell

The Rockdale Junior High 7th Grade A Team fell to the Caldwell Hornets 26-28 on Thursday. Brody Willard connected with De’andre Nunn on touchdown passes of 35 and 60 yards in the first quarter. In the fourth quarter, the connection of Willard and Nunn would strike again on a 30-yard touchdown pass.

They did it, 42-9!

The Rockdale Tigers reclaimed the traditional Victory Bell from the Cameron Yoemen Friday and did it in style. The 33-point margin of victory was the third highest for RHS in the long history of the bell battle, behind only 1967 (39 points) and 1963 (35 points).

Lady Tiger spikers take Cameron in four sets

The Lady Tigers continued to impress as Rockdale split two matches over the past week. On Friday, the Lady Tigers defeated the Cameron Lady Yoe in four sets 25-22, 25-23, 17-25 and 25-20. The Lady Tigers fought hard and showed great teamwork to fend off a good Cameron team.

Milano volleyball splits two

The MHS netters are now 7-7 on the season after splitting their two matches over the weekend. On Saturday, the Lady Eagles were defeated by the Granger Lady Lions in four sets 25-17, 26-18, 16-25 and 20-25. McKenna Robertson led the Lady Eagles with 19 kills and six blocks.

JV Gold remains undefeated, JV Blue falls to Yoemen JV

The RHS JV Gold team continued their dominant season after earning a tough win against the Cameron Yoemen 15-6. With the win, the young Tigers are now 5-0 on the season and 2-0 in district play.

Milano defeats Bartlett 24-6, now 1-1 in district

The Milano Eagles earned their first win in district play after defeating the Bartlett Bulldogs 24-6. The Eagles are now 2-3 on the season. “I thought we played with a ton of confidence,” MHS Head Coach Chad Lagrone said. “We were able to run the ball well and contain Bartlett’s offense.
