Cemetery cleanup well attended

Twelve people attended the Pleasant Hill Cemetery Organization’s Annual Homecoming lunch and cemetery cleanup on July 14. The annual cleanup takes place every second Sunday of July and the descendants of those buried at Pleasant Hill Cemetery are invited.

Rah-rah camp set for July 30-31

MILANO NEWS Milano Rah-Rah Camp this year will be held July 30-31 at the Milano Elementary Gym. It will run from 9 a.m. to noon each day and is for girls enrolled in Pre-K through fifth grade. Cost is $30 per child and includes a T-shirt. Siblings are only $20 each after first child’s registration.

Helping children for 26 years

Most people who retire after 26 years on the same job are full of stories they can tell when they are thrown a reception at the end of their careers. Robert Hollas couldn’t do that last week as he addressed a packed Pct.3 Justice of the Peace courtroom in the One-Stop Center.

Senior Expo vendors sought

Vendors are being sought for the Milam County Triad Senior Expo, set for 8 a.m. to 12-noon Oct. 16 at the Rock-dale KC Hall. A guide will be distributed with a multitude of resources. Vendor fees will include advertisement in the resource guide. Fees include: • Quarter page and booth space, $55.

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL CAMPS

Vacation Bible schools offer a variety of activities with a Christian message for students of all ages. These are the programs in the area: July 22-25 – “Knightly Virtues” VBS at Murray Street Church of Christ will take place in the evening.

Six-day revival at church promises to be impactful

Preacher and evangelist Rodney McGee will speak at the Forest Grove Christian Church’s six-day revival, which starts Sunday and lasts through Friday, Aug. 2.
