Alcoa retirees to meet March 14 in Thorndale
First 2019 meeting of the Rockdale Alcoa Retirees will be Thursday, March 14, at the Thorndale VFW Hall, next door to Fireman’s Hall on FM
486.
Doors open at 5 p.m. with a business meeting at 5:45, with election of officers, and a meal at 6 p.m.

The eighth annual Knight Scholarship volleyball tournament fundraiser is scheduled for March 23 at Milano High School. Things will get underway at 10 a.m. with registration and team photos at 10:30 a.m. Games will begin at 11 a.m.
A free movie featuring the world famous Lippanzer Horses/Spanish Riding School will follow a silent auction March 23 to benefit an Austin church which wants to establish a nature center in Rockdale.

Rockdale residents of all ages will have the chance to get “Lost in the 50s Tonight” when the Kay Theatre hosts a 50s Rock and Roll revival on Saturday, March 16.
That’s the title of the Milam Community Theaters newest play which debuts with a dinner theater production at 7 p.m. Friday at the Williams Civic Center in Cameron. Martha Lee (L) and Mona Butala star as two feuding cooking-show hostesses. Non-meal productions continue Saturday and Sunday (2 p.m.
