Graham

Joel Dwight Graham, 63, of Rockdale, died peacefully at 6:30 a.m. Feb. 17, 2020, in Temple. He was surrounded by family and visited by friends in his final days and hours during his short battle with cancer. No services are planned at this time.

Mayfield

Roy Glenn Mayfield Sr. was born on March 6, 1954, in New Braunfels to Jimmy Mayfield and Helen McCloud. He passed peacefully on Monday, Feb. 10, 2020, at home next to his loving wife of 41 years, Judith Mayfield.

McDaniel

Carol McDaniel, 69, of Rockdale died Monday, Feb. 17, 2020, at her home in Rockdale. Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 20, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale with Pastor Willie Phillips officiating. Burial will follow at I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Rockdale.

Rowland

Nathan Eugene Rowland, 41, of Taylor died Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2020. Funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, at 10th Street United Methodist Church in Taylor, with visitation before services starting at 1 p.m. Dr. Travis L. Summerlin of 10th Street United Methodist Church will officiate.

Boney

Ruth M. Johnson Boney, the 10th child of 10 children, was born to James Johnson and Lillie Miller Johnson on Sept. 22, 1922, in Rockdale. A service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 15, 2020, at New Hope Baptist Church, 321 E. Third Ave., in Rockdale.

Garza

Gabriel “Gene” Garza, 61, of Rockdale died Monday, Feb. 3, 2020, at Parkview Regional Hospital in Mexia. A funeral service was held Tuesday, Feb. 11, at Phillips & Luckey in Rockdale with Pastor Harvey Abke officiating. Burial was at Garza Cemetery following the service.

Northcott

W.E. “Gene” Northcott, 92 of Thorndale died Thursday, Feb. 6, 2020, at Renaissance Villa in Rockdale. Funeral services were held Tuesday, Feb. 11, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale. Burial followed at Locklin Cemetery in San Gabriel.

Pope

Michelle Pope, 57, of Rockdale died Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2020, at Seton Medical Center Williamson in Round Rock. Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 15, at Pecan Street Church of Christ in Rockdale with Brother John Mitchell officiating.

Simank

Billy Ed Simank died peacefully, surrounded by family, at SPJST Memory Care in Taylor on Thursday, Feb. 6, 2020. He battled Dementia and Parkinson’s with his usual determination, strength, humor, and love of family and life.
