George “Butch” Malone Sr., 80, of Minerva died Thursday, March 12, 2020, at Baylor Scott & White Hospital in Temple. Services were held Monday, March 16, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home Chapel in Rockdale with Bill Harris and Pastor Russell Thornburg officiating.

Richard Earl Melton, 57, of Milano died Thursday, March 12, 2020, at his home. Services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, March 21, at Milano High School Gym with burial following at Griffin Chapel Cemetery in the Griffin Chapel community. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m.

Reimer

THORNDALE—Dorothy Lee Reimer of Thorndale passed away on Saturday, March 14, 2020, at the S.P.J.S.T Nursing Home in Taylor. She was 89 years old. Dorothy was born on May 26, 1930, in Thrall to Ben and Lydia (Polzin) Ribbeck and was baptized at St. John’s Lutheran Church on Sept. 21, 1930.

Schell

Janos (John) Schell, 78, of Rockdale, beloved husband, daddy and papa died at home Sunday, March 15, 2020. A graveside service is planned for 2 p.m. Thursday, March 19, at Forest G rove Cemetery in the Forest Grove Community. Janos was born in a small Hungarian village, Paszto, on July 9, 1941.

Gilliland

Frances Pauline Gilliland, 91, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, March 7, 2020. She was born Nov. 18, 1928 in Milano, to Effie and Charlie Robinson. Frances married her sweetheart, Troy, on Aug. 1, 1948 in Milam County.

Meyer

Services for Kathleen Meyer, 83, of Rockdale were Monday, March 9, 2020, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale with Rev. Greg Spears Burial followed at Minerva Cemetery. Mrs. Meyer was born Sept. 1, 1936, in Minerva to Bose Ethridge and Bertha (Beathard) Robinson.

Sugg

Mary Olive Spivey Sugg was born on June 29, 1932. She lost her valiant eight-year fight against Alzheimer’s Disease on Feb. 22, 2020. She was born in Moultrie, GA, and when she was a young girl moved with her family to Wilson, NC, where she grew up and graduated from high school.

Bustamante

Steve “Stinky” Bustamante, 71, of Luling, was born in Edinburg on Aug. 23, 1948 to Esteban Bustamante and Teofila Morales. He died Feb. 24, 2020, at Ascension Seton Hays Medical Center in Kyle. A service was to have been held 11 a.m., Wednesday at Phillips & Lucky Funeral Home in Rockdale with Rev.

Evans-Thompson

Nancy Evans-Thompson, 72, of Rockdale passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2020 in Cameron. She was born on Sept. 27, 1947 to Jack F., Sr. and Laura A. (Lanford) Lands in Houston. She worked as a nurse.

Dyer

James Nicholas “Fugi” Dyer of Rockdale was born Feb. 27, 1966 in San Antonio and was placed in his Dad’s arms ten days later. Fifty-three years later, on Feb. 15, 2020 Fugi was placed in his Heavenly Father’s arms. A celebration of life service will be held 2 p.m.
