Eagles win district opener in Bartlett, 48-0

BARTLETT— MHS seniors Ethan Gordon and Josh Millar both rushed for more than 200 yards in a 48-0 victory during their district debut in Bartlett this past Friday. Gordon, who had a season- high of 239 yards, was the first to rack up points for the Eagles with a 54-yard touchdow n r un.

Bocanegra gets silver at district

Rockdale High School’s Jesus Bocanegra earned his third consecutive trip to the Region III cross country meet. The RHS junior placed second overall on Monday at the District 19-3A meet in Cameron with a season’s best time of 16:09.8.

Lady Dogs lose to rival Thrall in four sets

On Saturday, Lady Dog volleyball suffered their first district loss, falling to neighbor Thrall at home, 25-22, 19-25, 16-25, 15-25. Thorndale faced Holland on Tuesday after press time and play next on Friday against Austin Royals Home School. First serve is scheduled for 4 p.m.

RHS falls to Academy

Blue-and-Gold volleyball lost at home late Friday afternoon to Academy 22-25, 23,25, 18-25. The Lady Tigers beat the Lady Bees earlier this season on Sept. 13—25-16, 17-25, 22-25, 25-22, 15-8—at Academy.

Bulldogs win in Weimar, 34-26
