On Friday night, the Milano Eagles escaped the Houston suburbs victorious with a 30-29 win over the Cypress Christian Warriors, wrapping up their pre-district portion of their schedule undefeated. MHS scored first as senior Josh Millar punched in his 12th touchdown of the season on a fiveyard run.

RHS opens district with top-ranked Franklin

After a week off, the Blue-and-Gold open district play at Tiger Stadium against Franklin, who is Dave Campbell’s Texas Football magazine’s top-ranked team in Class 3A-I as of Monday. The Tigers opened the season with 38-29 win in Teague on Aug.

Lady Tigers fall to Lexington in five sets

Friday’s match between the Rockdale and Lexington volleyball teams was a battle until the final set, one in which the visiting Lady Eagles prevailed in the end. RHS lost the first set 25-14 before bouncing back with a 25-16 win in the second set.

Rockdale JV rattles West, 36-8

After a loss to Lexington the week before, Rockdale’s junior varsity football team bounced back, taking down West, 36-8. The Tigers took the lead when quarterback Brody Willard found Bryson Weaver open for a 45-yard touchdown pass.

IOLA—In the battle between two dogs, it was the Thorndale Bulldogs that triumphed this past Friday night, taking down the Iola Bulldogs, 42-6. THS built an early lead with a seven-yard touchdown run by Coy Stutts a little less than five minutes left in the first quarter.

SAN SABA—A two-touchdown lead with seven minutes lef t in the third quarter wasn’t enough for the Tigers to beat Jim Ned, who the Blue-and-Gold lost to on Friday night, 22-21.
