Area basketball teams play during holiday

The Rockdale Tigers won third place with a 4-2 record at the Buffalo Tournament this past weekend. The blue-and-gold lost their first game to Georgetown’s Gateway College Prep 57-45 after being outscored 15-2 in the final quarter.

RHS four-year varsity baseball letterman signs with Centenary

Tiger pitcher Zac Davis signed a letter of intent to play collegiate baseball for Centenary College of Louisiana in front of friends, family and RHS faculty on Friday, Dec. 21 in the Tiger gymnasium. “Not too many athletes are able to play at the (college) level, and it’s a blessing,” Davis said.

Lady Eagles 3-1 in district play

The Milano Lady Eagles went into Christmas break on a three-game winning streak, beating Mumford 46-35 last Friday. The Lady Eagles never relinquished the lead they won early and beat Mumford 46-35 to improve their District 25-2A District record to 3-1.

UIL needs to smooth out kinks

TIGER TRACKS The first game of the inaugural soccer season at Rock-dale High School hasn’t been played, yet coaches and administrators are already noticing that some University Interscholastic League rules need to be amended in order to accommodate smaller 3A and 2A schools.
