Lady Eagles lose bird battle in OT

AREA BASKETBALL The Milano Lady Eagles fell to 3-4 on the season with an overtime loss to Bruceville-Eddy Lady Eagles 43-38, before the Thanksgiving break. Milano started off strong with a 16-11 lead at the end of the first quarter.

Bulldogs gas Bartlett 92-42

The Thorndale Bulldogs defeated Bartlett 92-42 in their second win of the season. The Bulldogs were led with 28 points from all-state selection Sam Reaves. Thorndale also had double-digit scoring from Evan Ivy (12), Kolby Neumeyer (11), and Garrett Bernstein (10).

Tigers give it their all

Rockdale’s chance to defend its state championship came to an early end in the first round of the state playoffs, but the 2018 Tigers squad put up a good fight against a larger, more seasoned Grandview team in its 45-21 loss on Saturday afternoon at Waco ISD Stadium.

Thorndale’s smash mouth, plow forward style allowed Luke Leschber to shine in the Bulldog’s Bi-District 55-24 victory over Center Point last Friday. Leschber ran for 275 yards and scored five touchdowns in Marble Falls.
