Milano runner Koenig wins district meet

Area runners won and placed in District 25-2A cross country meet in Gause on Monday. Milano Junior High’s Kadance Koenig won the first place medal with a time of 12:51 in the two-mile race. She beat second the second place finisher Holland’s Tessa Burton by two seconds.

Bulldogs bite Tigers in battle of Hwy 79

The Thorndale Bulldogs beat the Thrall Tigers 41-0, for the 55th win in 88 meetings against their Highway 79 rival on Friday in Thrall. The Dawgs’ running game dominated the Tiger defense with 415 yards.

Thorndale, Milano XC runners prep for regionals on Monday

After successful showings at the District 25-2A cross country meet in Gause, Milano and Thorndale cross country runners have spent the past week preparing for the regional qualifier meet at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.

Lady Bulldogs win two matches, for second place in District 25-2A

Thorndale will play Milano Tuesday in an effort to retain their second place position in District 25-2A play. The Lady Bulldogs are 10-2 in district behind the undefeated Thrall Tigerettes. They played at home against the Lady Eagles Tuesday. Milano is one game behind Thorndale in the standings.

Jones, Batten crowned MHS homecoming king, queen

Determined XC runners miss regional meet by seconds

At the district 19-3A cross country meet in Cameron, many Rockdale runners came close to qualifying for the regional meet. “We have a young varsity team,” said Cheryl Darby, Rockdale ISD head cross country coach. “Cady (Barcak) did amazing for a freshman on varsity.
