Tigers go 3-2 at Taylor Tourney

In their final tournament of pre-district play, the Rockdale Tiger basketball team placed third in their 3-2 performance at Taylor Duck Tournament last Thursday through Saturday.

The Thorndale Bulldogs won their own tournament this past weekend behind the scoring of point guard Sam Reaves. “The tournament was full of evenly talented teams,” said John Kovar, THS boy’s head basketball coach. “Every team had at least one loss and it made for great games.

Lady Bulldogs finish third in Tilden trip

Elise Biar and Savanna Taylor made the all-tournament team, and helped the Lady Bulldogs basketball team finish third at the Tilden Tournament. “It was an overnight trip,” said Bradley Dickerson, THS girl’s head basketball coach. “The girls had a great time with each other bonding.

Eagles fly into third in Bryan

The Milano Eagles finished third at the St. Joseph tournament, and leading scorer Christian Thurman was named to the all-tournament team after the Eagles’ 2-1 performance at the Bryan private school. In their first game, the Eagles defeated Magnolia’s Legacy Prep Christian Academy 73-55.

Tigers learn lessons in first tournament

In their first tournament of the 2018-19 season, the Rockdale Tigers learned valuable lessons, struggled against all class 4A teams and made the consolation round finals at the Lexington Tournament last weekend.
