Lady Tigers try to stay in the playoff race

The Lady Tigers dropped to fifth place in District 19-3A play, after a win and loss last week. They have three more district games after Friday. The top four teams advance to the playoffs. On Friday, Rockdale beat the Franklin Lady Lions for the second time 25-14, 25-22, 25-11.

Bulldogs come up short against Holland

The Thorndale Bulldogs lost their first game of the season on the road, 21-20, to the Holland Hornets. The Hornets went as far as the regional semi-finals in 2017 and have eight defensive starters from last year’s team.

VOLLEYBALL Milano’s loss to undefeated Thrall on Saturday dropped them down to third place in District 25-2A standings, behind Thorndale.

Lady Bulldogs are in second place in district play

The Thorndale Lady Bulldogs shutout the Bartlett Lassies and lost to the Tigerettes for the second time this season giving them the second place spot in District 25-2A, behind an undefeated Thrall team. Thorndale beat Bartlett at home Saturday, 25-13, 25-14, 25-13.

LIVING LEGEND—Cindy Key owner/master instructor of Central Texas Martial Arts recently won first in Japanese/ Okinawa open hand Kata division and then went on to win the grand championship in Kata. She was awarded a Power of Women Living Legend award by the National Sports Karate Museum in Houston.

Blaydn Barcak (1) sparked a Tiger drive in the first half of the game against Burnet in Thorndale with a 25-yard pass to Mason Willard. The RJH Tigers played their home game in Thorndale on Thursday, so the varsity would be the first team to play in the new Tiger Stadium.

Three Rockdale Junior High School Tiger football teams lost to the Burnet Bulldog teams on Thursday in Thorndale. The eight grade A had a tough battle as they looked to fill the voids left by four injured players,” said Eric Willard, coach.
