Thorndale, Milano XC runners prep for regionals on Monday

After successful showings at the District 25-2A cross country meet in Gause, Milano and Thorndale cross country runners have spent the past week preparing for the regional qualifier meet at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.

Milano defeats Granger, Mumford, playing for second place in district

Milano is within striking distance of a second place finish in District 25-2A. The Lady Eagles played Thorndale on Tuesday for a chance to tie the Lady Bulldogs for second place. Thorndale won the first matchup in district play 3-1.

Lady Bulldogs win two matches, for second place in District 25-2A

Thorndale will play Milano Tuesday in an effort to retain their second place position in District 25-2A play. The Lady Bulldogs are 10-2 in district behind the undefeated Thrall Tigerettes. They played at home against the Lady Eagles Tuesday. Milano is one game behind Thorndale in the standings.

Allyson Towns had a great net game against the Lady Yoemen. JV1 won last Tuesday’s match 2-1.

Jones, Batten crowned MHS homecoming king, queen

MILANO NEWS Congratulations to Milano High School 2018 homecoming king Devonte Jones and queen Emma Batten. The two were crowed during halftime ceremonies at Friday night’s football game. (See photo, page 5A).
