No. 2 Lady Dogs move to 5-0 in district play

Thorndale pitchers teamed up and didn’t allow a single hit in a 19-0 victory over Bremond to move to 5-0 in district play for the No. 2 ranked Lady Dogs. The offense was boosted by sophomore Jayci Martinka who went 4-4 from the plate.

STATE TOURNAMENT The Muenster Hornets have only won 18 basketball games this season. You’ll have to excuse the Hornets for being late to the party, they were a little busy taking the Class 2A, Division II football championship with a 27-20 victory over Tenaha to put the cap on a 16-0 season.

Lady Tigers feature hot bats at Taylor tourney

The Rockdale Lady Tigers pulled out the whipping sticks in the Lady Duck Invitational and scored in double digits in three of their five games. The Lady Tigers (8-4) romped over Austin Lanier 29-0 in the tournament opener, then followed up with a 14-0 blanking of Austin LBJ.
