Thorndale, Milano destroy first round opposition

SOFTBALL PLAYOFFS 2018 Both Thorndale and Milano broke out the whipping sticks as they each destroyed their first round opponents to kick off the Class 2A state softball playoffs. No. 1 ranked Thorndale absolutely crushed Louise, 19-0, in five innings, while Milano flattened Flatonia 11-2.

Milano runs away with another regional title

REGIONAL TRACK KINGSVILLE—Despite being nestled close to the Texas border, Kingsville has become Milano country. The Eagles stacked up 94 points to easily outdistance Refugio’s 66 points to grab their second consecutive Class 2A, Region IV track championship at Texas A&M-Kingsville.

THORNDALE—It’s hard to believe that it’s been eight years since Thorndale has made a trip to the state tournament. To further add to the frustration, the Bulldogs were one step away from playing at Dell Diamond last year, before being swept out by Big Sandy in the regional finals.
