A win for the family called Rockdale

Jeff Miller almost lost it for a split second. No, not the state championship football game. That was never going to happen Thursday. Miller’s Tigers had roared by Brock, 45-29, like a gear-jamming 18-wheeler on the Tom Landry Freeway outside Arlington’s AT&T Stadium, the home of the Dallas Cowboys.

Big Blue bashes Brock for 3A title

ARLINGTON—As the second quarter got underway in the Class 3A state championship game, Rockdale found itself behind 21-0. Yawn... For those who have spent any amount of time following the Tigers in 2017, there was no need to panic. Just another day at the office.

The biggest play of the day was not in the playbook

The most important play of Rockdale’s state championship victory over Brock Thursday afternoon wasn’t a long distance pass or run, nor even a jarring defensive stop on fourth down. It didn’t come from championship game MVP’s Torry Locklin or Jaqualyn Crawford.
