Lady Tigers take a hit in district in loss to Lions

FRANKLIN—The Rockdale Lady Tigers playoff hopes took a hit Tuesday night in a 4-3 loss to Franklin, a team below them in the league standings. The Lady Tigers stand 13-11 overall and 6-5 in District 20-3A and in the fourth and final playoff spot.

No. 1 Bulldogs continue to roll up district foes

The Thorndale Bulldogs continued to prove why they are the No. 1 team in the state with a couple of double-digit wins in district play. The No. 1 Bulldogs are 20-3-1 on the season and improved to 12-0 in league play.

No. 1 Lady Dogs remain perfect

The No. 1 Thorndale Lady Dogs celebrated senior night in a big way by thrashing Thrall 15-0. The Lady Dogs have an overall record of 20-1-1 and are 12-0 in district. The Lady Dogs close out the season traveling to Bartlett on Friday and Holland on Tuesday.

It’s unanimous: both Dog and Lady Dogs No. 1 in state

After simmering under the top spot in the state for weeks, the Thorndale Lady Dogs have joined the Bulldog baseball team atop the state polls. The 17-1-1 Lady Dogs vaulted to the No. 1 ranking in this week’s Class 2A Texas Girls Coaches Association poll after several weeks at No. 2.

Aycock presence missing from PVIL Hall

Had a great visit with Prairie View Interscholastic League chairman Robert Brown at the recent UIL state basketball tournament where the PVIL had a display on its history and I reminded him that despite Aycock’s place in history, there wasn’t one single Aycock athlete in the PVIL Hall of Fame.
