Dawgs determined to make it back to state

THORNDALE—It’s hard to believe that it’s been eight years since Thorndale has made a trip to the state tournament. To further add to the frustration, the Bulldogs were one step away from playing at Dell Diamond last year, before being swept out by Big Sandy in the regional finals.

Davis pitches Tigers to first district victory

Rockdale’s first district victory of the season was Zac Davis’ first win of the season and both fall into the better late than never category. The Tigers finally picked up their first District 20-3A win of the season after 10 games with a 3-1 victory over Rogers Friday at Tiger Field.

No. 1 Thorndale polishes off district opposition

Now they can get serious. No. 1 Thorndale polished off the last of the district opposition and are primed for the playoffs. The top-ranked Bulldogs finish the regular season 24-3-1 and were perfect in District 27-2A at 12-0. Thorndale will play Blooming Grove in a warm-up game on Saturday at 10 a.m.

Tigers send seven to Waco

WHITNEY—The Rock-dale Tigers will send seven athletes to the Class 3A, Region III meet Friday and Saturday at Clyde Hart Stadium on the campus of Baylor University in Waco. Three Tigers will be making return trips to Hart Stadium, in Gavin Young, Dylan David and Payton Miller.
