Thorndale claims two MVPs awards

THORNDALE—The Bulldogs’ strong seasons earned several All-District honors for 2023 in District 27-2A. BULLDOGS— In baseball, Luke Merz was selected as the district’s Most Valuable Player by unanimous vote.

BRENHAM—The Milano varsity softball team’s season came to an end last weekend at the regional semi-finals with two losses to perennial powerhouse, the Weimar Wildcats. Weimar is currently ranked No. 2 in the state in 2A.

July 4th plans under way at Chamber

The Rockdale Chamber of Commerce and Visitor Center is the host for this year’s Fourth of July celebration for Milam County. Working in collaboration with Cameron Chamber of Commerce, the event will be held at Fair Park starting at 6 p.m.

Bulldogs fall to Burton

HEARNE—The Thorndale Bulldogs baseball team fought hard last week, but fell to the Burton Panthers in two games, 7-2 and 5-4. Game two on Friday night went to 16 innings before a winner could be determined.
