After a hot start in district play, RHS baseball hit a rough patch. They dropped both games last week on the road versus Rogers and rival C.H. Yoe in Cameron. ROGERS— Rogers jumped out to 4-run lead in the first inning and never looked back, winning the game 10-0.

LEXINGTON—Despite battling several injuries this season the Rockdale High School boys’ track team put in an excellent effort, finishing second overall against a large field of 14 other schools, barely losing to host school Lexington last Thursday night.

RHS places four on All-District soccer teams

The boys’ All-District Team was announced last week and the Tigers were well represented. Riley Spears won Goalkeeper of the Year honors. He joined Pedroines Tenorio on the First Team All-District squad. Second Team All-District members were Cesar Rodriguez and Saint Medrano.

—Lady Tigers girls’ double team of Julie Bartsch (L) and Yolianna Castillo won District 19-AAA in tennis last week by beating Lorena, 6-3, 6-0. The duo will play in the Regional Tournament April 10-11 in College Station.

Lady Tigers compete well in Caldwell TEMPLE—The Rockdale track team finished in sixth place overall at last week’s Wildcat Relays. Among the many standout performances is the first-place finish in the 200 meter by Tim Grice. Grice left his competition in the dust with a time of 22.5 seconds.

THRALL—Rockdale High School freshmen Mason Lillard and Brody Willard won their third boys doubles match over Thrall with an 8-4 victory. They will enter the district tournament as the number three seed this week in Belton.

Milano, Thorndale lifters also compete ABILENE—Rockdale powerlifters were finalists in Division 3 of the state powerlifting meet Saturday in Abilene. Br yce Flowers set a new Rockdale High School record with a squat of 655 pounds, which also tied the state record for the 181 lb. weight class.
