Thorndale, Milano softball results

The Lady Bulldogs opened District 25-2A play by beating Holland 11-1 on the road last Tuesday. Thorndale Softball team was on fire at the La Grange Softball Tournament last weekend winning four games in dominant fashion at the La Grange Tournament.

THS baseball team gears up for district

Thorndale amassed a 1-2 record at the Brentwood Christian Tournament in Austin last weekend. Last Saturday the Bulldogs dispatched Austin Royals Home School 7-1. Corbin Preusse, who was the winning pitcher and pitched six innings, allowed four hits and one run. He struck out six six and walked zero.

Boys’ relay team clocks second best time in state

Lady Tigers off to hot start

Despite their 6-5 loss to district rival Cameron on Monday night, the Lady Tigers are still riding high from their Jarrell Tournament win last weekend. Last Monday’s District 19-3A opener, the Rockdale Lady Tigers lost to C.H. Yoe. Brande Breithaupt took the loss for the Lady Tigers.

Golfers hitting their benchmarks

Salado’s Mill Creek Golf Course was a good benchmark to test where the RHS boys’ golf team stood in District 19-3A, according to Coach Ethan Noel.

Tigers showcase bats, gloves, speed at home

The Rockdale Tigers racked up 12 hits in the doubleheader the team hosted against Milano last Saturday. In the first game, the Tigers were able to claim the victory with a score of 12-4.

Bulldogs season ends in area playoff game

The Thorndale Bulldogs lost last Friday’s second-round playoff game to La Pryor 66-54. The Bulldogs fought until the end, but could not overcome their struggles shooting the ball. “Even though we did not shoot well, we battled the entire time,” said Coach John Kovar.
