—Rockdale Band Booster held their annual Spaghetti Supper fund raiser Monday evening in the junior-high commons. Servers, including Richard Eubank and Laurie Kellar, were busy dishing up hundreds of plates. The event raised $3,915 for the Band Boosters. RISD bands performed during the supper.

They came from as far as Austin to Rockdale’s Cliff’s Tavern Saturday for a benefit to assist Mike Morris of Lexington with medical bills. Morris is a lymphoma patient. Around 80 persons participated in the event which also included an auction and prize drawing. The event also featured chili sales.

CHURCH NEWS

Allen AME’s Preach Cobbler on Sunday Allen AME Church will host a program called Preach Cobbler Festival on Feb. 9 at 2 p.m. Dinner will be served with peach cobbler for dessert. The public is invited to attend.

ROCKDALE CHRISTIAN SERVICES

RCS food pantry Rockdale Christian Services operates a food pantry at 224 West Cameron Avenue, open 10 a.m. until noon weekdays. Donations of non-perishable food items are welcome, especially one-pound bags of rice, pinto beans, macaroni and cheese, canned soups and peanut butter.
