Freshmen phenoms 8-2 in district

Through ten district games, Rockdale’s ninth grade team has kept the crowd at the old RHS Gymnasium entertained. In their eight wins, they have beaten their opponents by an average of 25.

New district, new schedule for Rockdale football

All across the state of Texas, high school football coaches, players, fans and reporters reacted to the University Interscholastic League’s 2020-2022 realignment, including Rockdale’s head coach and athletic director Jeff Miller.

RHS falls out of postseason hunt

Raven named football MVP at Fall banquet

Rockdale High School held their annual fall banquet at the RJH Commons on Wednesday evening where junior Kesean Raven was named the most valuable for the 2019 Rockdale Tiger football team. “This is a guy that never comes off the field for us.” said RHS head coach and athletic director Jeff Miller.

Tigers lose 64-55 to Troy

Rockdale’s boys got their third straight loss with a 64-55 final against Troy on Tuesday night at home. “The ball movement wasn’t really there,” said coach Marcus McNeil. “We had one person touch the ball before getting a shot up.

Gold outshines blue in opener

Jessica Flores’s first hit of the season was also a game winner when she hit a single to bring in Allyson Whited to give Rock-dale JV a 7-6 win over the varsity on Friday night at Lady Tiger Field. Winning pitcher Brande Breithaupt was on the mound for all seven innings with one strikeout.

Rockdale soccer looking to find footing in district

This past week, the Tiger soccer team was challenged in their first two district games. They kicked off 26-4A play against newcomer Austin Achieve Academy, who defeated RHS 10-1. On Friday, the Blue-and-Gold faced defending district champion Austin’s Eastside Memorial who beat them 4-0.

Bulldogs still ranked ninth in state

Thorndale improved to 7-1 on Friday evening after turning an early advantage into a 44-30 road win over Holland on Friday. The Bulldogs led 12-6 at the end of the first and shot their lead up to 31-13 at halftime with another hot second quarter.

RHS powerlifting at Salado Feb. 20th Tiger and Lady Tiger powerlifting teams have much of the month of February off but return to the gym to compete on Thursday, Feb. 20, for the Salado Eagle Invitational.
