Lady Bulldogs take road trip

Both Thorndale basketball teams head out of town for the weekend for tournament play. The Bulldogs go north to play in the Salado Tournament. THS finished fourth last season at the tourney, beating Corpus Christi-Flour Bluff, Cameron and Pflugerville-Weiss.

Thorndale’s 2019 season came to an end on Thursday at Heroes Stadium in San Antonio where Refugio outlasted them 49-20 in the area finals. Going into the game, not many people thought the Bulldogs had a chance against the Bobcats, Texas Football Magazine’s top-ranked team in Class 2A-I.

RHS goes 3-1 in Cameron

In their final games before Thanksgiving break, Rockdale’s Lady Tiger basketall teams defeated three Milam County teams, going 3-1 at the Lady Yoe Tournament in Cameron. RHS outscored Milano 70-19 Thursday afternoon. Anna Harmon led the Lady Tigers with 18 points.

Tigers can’t make up first quarter deficit at Caldwell

Rockdale High School sustained its first loss to a fast-paced Caldwell on the road 65-48. Both teams struggled to make shots with the Hornets leading 6-2 halfway through the opening quarter. The floodgates opened when CHS outscored Rock-dale 16-6 to take a 22-8 going into the second.

Bulldogs win first two

THS came out on top 58-57 in Little River-Academy on Monday night. The Bumblebees were ahead for much of the game leading 18-15 in the first and by five at the half.
