Thorndale’s winning streak of more than a dozen games came to an end on Tuesday night when the Lady Bulldogs were defeated by Burton 22-25, 23-25, 18-25 at the Giddings High School Gymnasium. The loss kept them short of the Region IV tournament in Brenham coming up this weekend.

Rockdale’s eighth grade “A” team ended their season undefeated with a 14-8 win over Academy on a cold Thursday evening at Tiger Stadium. The Tigers were able to hold Academy on their final drive when the Bumblebees had a first-and-10 from the RJH 12, stopping them four plays in a row.

Rockdale High School’s co-drum major Marina Costilla was named the Big Blue Band from Tigerland’s Band Sweetheart and Will Pounders was named Band Beau during Friday night’s halftime performance at Tiger Stadium.
