THS girls’ win three in Tilden, Bulldogs go 2- 2 at Salado tourney

Both Thorndale basketball teams hit the road last weekend with the boys going up to Salado and the girls making the 210-mile road trip to Tilden, a town south of San Antonio. The Lady Bulldogs opened the tournament with two wins on Thursday.

Rockdale High School boys’ and girls’ powerlifting teams have high hopes coming into for the 2020 power-lifting season. Last season, RHS had two regional qualifiers and one state qualifier with all three are returning to the gym this season.

Gibbs hangs it up after 23 seasons

When the Rockdale Tigers’ 2019 season ended last month, RHS seniors weren’t the only ones who were saying good-bye to Friday night football. Bart Gibbs, RISD’s longest tenured coach in the history of the district, also said farewell after 23 seasons on the sidelines for the blue-and-gold.
