Cross-country runners set to begin Thursday

Rockdale High School boys and girls cross country teams kickoff the 2019 season next Thursday, Aug. 1, with their first practice at 6:30 a.m. RHS lost four seniors to graduation but have a lot of young talent returning.

Schramm family triumphs in Rockdale Open tourney

Two brothers battled one another for the top spot in the Rockdale Open youth tournament. Ethan Schramm beat twin brother Garrett in a 9-7 match to win first place.

Pierre awarded medical fellowship to TTU-El Paso

Three Rockdale youngsters will be at the Summer Games of Texas this weekend in College Station starting Friday Jaylen Miles earned his way to College Station after battling a case of meningitis to win two gold medals in the 800-meter run and the 200-meter dash. He also won silver in the 400.

God answers bad times with grace
