Lady Tigers continue early success with victories in two out of three

With the official start of football season being a few days away, teams are making their final strides as they prepare to hit the gridiron. For Rockdale, the Tigers were scheduled to play a scrimmage against Mexia High School, but the game was canceled due to Mexia having to shut down football operations. Luckily for the Tigers, they were able to reschedule and face off against a tough Franklin Lions squad.
The RHS cross country team hit the ground running as they competed in their first meet of the season at the Rockdale Invitational. The races took place early Friday morning in the fields of the Rockdale Country Club.
Ever since we were children, we were taught the ultimate goal is to be successful. We were told to strive for great careers like doctors, lawyers or professional athletes. You could look at television and see these people garner nice possessions and receive love and respect from their peers. What we didn’t realize, is the amount of dedication and sacrifice it takes to reach these goals.
Recreational fishing is enjoyed by millions of people. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service reported that there was an 8 percent increase in anglers between 2011 and 2017. Expenditures by anglers nationwide rose 2 percent during the same time, from $45 billion to $46.1 billion.
