State tourney comes to town

TEXAS TEENAGE BASEBALL Rockdale is set to host 200-plus visitors in town when they host the Texas Teenage Baseball’s District T-ball tournament at the Rockdale Youth Baseball Association Field.

Tigers ranked 18th in state

In the 2019 edition of Dave Campbell’s Texas Football Magazine, the Tigers are ranked 18th in Class 3A Division I and are picked to finish third in District 10-3A. Rival Cameron is picked to win the district and are ranked fourth behind state champion Grandview, state-runner up Malakoff and Atlanta.

Camp honors memory of late Rockdale children

In its third year of existence, the MAK Agility Camp continues to grow, thanks in large part to the Rockdale community members who support it.

Betak wins All-Centex Coach of the Year honors

Thorndale High School softball coach Lance Betak has been named All-Star Preps All-Centex Softball Coach of the Year. Betak led the Lady Bulldogs to the UIL Class 2A state championship game last month in a hard-fought battle with top-ranked Crawford.
