MHS, THS track head to regionals

The Milano and Thorn-dale track teams have a combined 28 student-athletes that will compete at the Region IV track meet held at Javelina Stadium in Kings-ville on April 26-27.

THS girls undefeated as District 27-2A champs

The Thorndale Lady Bulldogs ended District 27-2A undefeated for the second straight season with a 10-1 win over Granger on the road. Thorndale got up 2-0 in the top of the first when Kelsey Kovar hit an RBI-groundout and scored another three in the third inning to make the score 5-0.

Tigers win third district gold medal

GOLF The RHS boys golf team won their third straight district championship on Monday after finishing 19 strokes ahead of Cameron for a total of 716 on the second day of the District 19-3A tournament.

Two Rockdale High School doubles teams won their respective divisions this past week at the District 19-3A tennis tournament in Franklin to earn a spot at the Region III tourney.

The Rockdale High School relay teams faced-off with Cameron once more before the upcoming district track meet and trailed by seconds at the Bumblebee Relays in Little River-Academy last Thursday.

Lady Tigers can’t catch a break

The Rockdale Lady Tiger softball team fell to 5-6 in District 19-3A play on Friday with a 7-2 loss to Little River-Academy where they were unable to overcome errors and a pair of home runs hit by the Lady Bees.

SPORTS BRIEFS

Area all-district honors announced Five Rockdale High School girl soccer players were named to the all-district 26-4A teams by coaches. Senior goalie Kaylee Criswell was named to the first team and defender Elysia Ruelas was named to the second team.

Tasha San Miguel placed fourth in the mile race behind her second place teammate Ivanna Luna at the Bumblebee Relays in Little River-Academy last Thursday.
